Born in Decatur, Illinois, BS (1986) in Zoology from Eastern Illinois University, MS (1988) and PH.D. (1994) in Entomology from the University of Florida. Employed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Plant Industry, since 1993. Working in various aspects of agricultural identifications and collections management.

Research interests include: life histories and taxonomy of various beetles, primarily Scarabaeidae and Erotylidae.
