Research interests have focused on revisionary systematics of Pyraloidea (Lepidoptera). Current projects include generic revisions of tropical Odontiinae, evolution of complex characters and hostplant usage, and compiling morphological data for Crambidae for phylogenetic analysis and software-based identification. Faunistic interests focus on the Greater Antilles. Member of The Entomological Society of America, The Lepidopterists' Society, the Societas Europaea Lepidopterologica, and the Willi Hennig Society.
